NFL Monday Night Matchup
October 5th 2009 - Special K
Minnesota Vikings -3.5 vs Green Bay Packers
It's time to redeem myself after a pathetic 3-10 record in Week 4, by far my
worst single week record I've ever posted since the site began. You are only as
good as your next pick anyways or maybe I am just destined to predict the
over/under on
games!
Many people come into this game focusing on Favre and the revenge factor but
neglect to notice how much superior the Vikings are at this point in the
2009 season compared to the Packers. The Vikings could probably win this game
easily with Tavaris Jackson running their offense. Don't get me wrong, Aaron
Rodgers is a great QB and a very likable guy but the Packers are not going to be
able to hide weaknesses in their offensive line and their defense much longer.
The Packers patchwork offensive line has given up most sacks in the NFL so far
this year. That statistic is a bit of a surprise given that Rodgers is a very
mobile QB. He's not Drew Bledsoe back there holding the ball forever. Look for
Jared Allen to go off and feast tonight.
The Packers defense looked pretty good in week 1 against the Bears. However,
since that game they have come back down to normal. Last week, they gave up 110+
rushing yards to the Steven Jackson of the Rams. All Day should have a huge
night and run wild on the Packers.
After last week's miracle pass, Favre has players believing in him. You could
hear Vikings players shouting "You're the Man!" to Favre. Brett Favre has a
knack of shining in the limelight and will stick it to his former team. The
Vikings will avoid giving up another special teams TD and win this game by 10+
points.
Score Prediction: Vikings 31 - Packers 20
Take Favre and the Vikings to cover
