NFL Monday Night Matchup October 26th 2009 - Special K
Philadelphia Eagles -7 at Washington Redskins
A massive train wreck is about to happen in DC this evening. Sherman Lewis gets
his shot at play calling tonight in an attempt to shake up the inept Redskins
offense. Lewis was last found calling bingo games at a senior center. The
Redskins do have the oldest roster in the NFL, so I can see why Redskins
executives would think that Sherm's recent experience is relevant. This
coordinator change reminds me of when Al Davis hired Tom Walsh to run the
Raiders offense. Walsh was running a bed and breakfast in Idaho before he took
on the role of offensive coordinator.
In football, it is really more about executing the plays than the actual play
calling. The Redskins simply don't have the talent on offense to score a lot of
points. When your tight end is the best and most consistent weapon on offense,
you know that you are in trouble. The Eagles did have trouble covering Zach
Miller of the Raiders last weekend, but they quickly went out and acquired Will
Witherspoon to fill in for the injured Omar Gaither at linebacker.
We clipped some video from today's Sports Junkie show on the Fan 106.7.
The commentary is great and not much different from my viewpoint on tonight's
game. My favorite part of this video is watching Jim Zorn bouncing the football
into his groin area!
How often to you see NFL head coaches goofing around like that?
If you interested in purchasing one of those "Worst Owner Ever" t-shirts that
the crew is wearing, I was able to find the t-shirts
here.
Take the Eagles to easily cover the spread
