The
weekly PSYCHO aWARD goes to the players, officials, or team that
cause you to curse at the TV during the game and puts you on the edge of
insanity.
Week 10 Winner: Hoodie Bill Belichick
Going for it on 4th and 2 at your own 28 yard line with only 2 minutes left in
the game and a 6 point lead makes this week's award winner a no brainer. I've
decided that it was too much torture to show video of the Faulk bobbled pass
from Brady that ended up inches short of the first down resulting in a short
field for Peyton Manning and the inevitable game winning TD. Instead you get one
of my favorite Jeopardy questions of all time.
Belichick's decision was costly to those who picked the Patriots straight up
over the Colts and also to those who bet the over 11.5 wins on the season. The
Patriots now need to close the season 6-1 to go 12-4 for the season and still
have the Saints, Texans, a few other decent teams left to play. This decision
Belichick made speaks to the lack of faith in his defense and to the greatness
of Peyton Manning. He obviously felt the Patriots had a much better chance to go
for it on 4th down then trying to stop Peyton Manning who now has 40 career
comeback victories. The Patriots will still win the AFC East and will
still go to they playoffs but this game could have a long lasting effect on the
psyche of the team.
