Pilfo's Parlay for Week 4
October 1st 2009 - Pilfo
Kansas City has had a few sparkling moments this year but I admit I wouldn't
want to stake my life on them to come through on any given Sunday. The Giants
have been taking care of business by playing solid, winning football. So why the
K.C. pick you ask? Well dating back to my betting childhood some 30 years ago I
remember the 2 most powerful NFL football betting trends and have practiced
those trends for 30 years and I can honestly say I have made money on them. The
first trend is to always bet against the team that is playing their 3rd
consecutive road game in a 14 day span. The second is to always take K.C. plus
the points at Arrowhead. These two powerful trends come together in one game as
the Giants complete their 3 game road trip and K.C. is a home dog. This may
sound like a less than scientific approach and more like a voodoo approach but
just sit back and watch the magic as it unfolds on Sunday.
Prediction: NYG 24-20
Oakland can do one thing right and that is to run the ball. The second thing
they almost do right is to defend against the pass. Hopefully the Oakland
coaches agree with me and can keep JaMarcus Russell focused on the game instead
of the strip clubs he has been spotted at frequently. Houston has struggled to
defend against the run and have struggled to gain consistency with their own
offense. This game will be a lot tighter than most think and Oakland will have a
shot at a victory in the closing minutes. Unfortunately JaMarcus will throw a
pick to end the game.
Prediction: Houston 20-17
San Diego is a team that improves as the year goes on year after year. They have
played well but have a few things to tweak on both offense and defense.
Nonetheless this is a Super Bowl caliber team with an excellent quarterback and
receiving core. They are rarely behind in a game and when they are behind they
are always close. Pittsburgh, also a Super Bowl caliber team, has had it's share
of issues especially with the running game which is it's bread and butter.
Pittsburgh is also a team that improves each year as the season progresses. This
game will be a shootout as both quarterbacks should be able to move the ball
against the other. I believe that at this point in time San Diego has more
firepower. The spread is too big here.
Prediction: San Diego 38-28
3 Team Parlay: KC +8.5 / Oak +9.5 /
SD +6.5
