NFL Bargain Bets for Week 3
September 23rd 2010 - Old Man Winner
Green Bay Packers -3 @ Chicago Bears
This one is too easy! So easy, in fact, that it almost feels like a trap.
However, Bear traps these days just aren't as scary as they used to be.
Soldier Field is a venue that does not seem to hold the noise and does not make
it that hard for traveling teams to come in a steal a victory, especially if the
visitors are only a bus ride away.
Last December The Pack beat 'em by running the ball. This year they will beat
them by passing it. Aaron Rodgers is just too good. Yes, the Bears will get
their rush on and I fully expect Rodgers to get sacked a few times. However, I
also expect Rodgers to protect the ball and beat the Bears secondary a couple of
times deep and also pick on the linebackers all day with Finley and Jackson out
of the backfield.
Like most games, this one will be determined by turnovers and Cutler just won't
be able to help himself under the lights on Monday night. He'll try too hard to
be the hero and turn the ball over at least a couple of times.
I handicapped this game GB-7 (same as last year's result in Chicago), and I
think they will cover that.
Be happy the Bears are 2-0 which drove the spread down to a ridiculously low
level.
Take the Packers to cover
