NFL Underdog Pick for Week 3
September 22nd 2010 - Special K
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Dust off the cobwebs as old man Charlie Batch will be starting at QB for the
Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend in Tampa Bay. Batch has made 2 pass attempts in
the last 2 regular seasons and the last time he had significant playing time was
in a meaningless week 17 game back in 2007. Pittsburgh's offense will have a
difficult time moving the football against a much improved Tampa Bay defense led
by rookie Gerald McCoy. Meanwhile, Josh Freeman has been playing well and has a
QB rating of 95 so far in 2010.
It is not going to take too many points for the Tampa to beat the Steelers in
this one.
Listen, you aren't going to keep winning football games with gadget kick off
returns for touchdowns and by having your defense force 7 turnovers in a game.
That isn't a sustainable winning formula. I've also learned over the years that
the Steelers play down to their competition. I got burned several times last
year because of this (i.e.
Steelers loss to the Browns and Raiders). I
Take the Bucs |
