Pilfo's Parlay Week 17
January 1st 2011 - Pilfo
T.B. + 7.5 / Houston - 2.5 / St. Louis -3
The surprising Bucs will play their guts out in this one. The Bucs have a
chance of getting into the playoffs. The Packers and Giants have to lose in the
afternoon games while Tampa wins in the early game. Tampa has been a
solid, respectable team all year and this game just might be set up for an
upset. The Saints can still win their division but their hopes will come to an end at
halftime when the Falcons are pounding the Panthers. The Saints have been
playing musical running backs all season and the running game is not really the
way they win games. Colston just had some garbage cleaned out of his knee this
week and probably won't play at all. Beware Saints fans. Be happy you will play
the NFC west winner next week.
Prediction: Tampa 23-20 in overtime.
Texan fans should at least be proud of their star running back Arian Foster.
Foster is 56 yards ahead of Jamaal Charles in the rushing race for most yards.
(Charles has 80 less carries by the way but that doesn't matter) Foster should
have a big day and the Houston offense will have fun playing against a Jags team
that is playing many 2nd stringers at key positions due to injury. The Jaguars,
while still in the playoff hunt, will need Indy to lose at home against a poor
Titan team. I think the Jags played very well this year but the party is over.
It looks like they are fielding a skeleton of the team that got them this far.
Prediction: Texans 31-10
The NFC west bowl. The Seattle/St. Louis game was moved to Sunday night so
that the whole nation can see which team will come out of the NFC west only to
host a playoff game and lose to the Saints next week. The excitement is
mounting. The best thing that will come out of this game is that when St. Louis
wins this game we silence all the chatter of the commentators about a 7-9 team
not being able to make the playoffs or a 7-9 team not being able to host a
playoff game. There are better things to talk about than this so deal with it
commentators who need to fill space during a game. I digress. Sorry. The Rams
have been a better team all year than the Seahawks have. Better Q.B. Better R.B.
Better defense. Better offensive line. The Seahawks can regroup after this game
and start to make another 150 roster moves before the opener next year.
Prediction: Rams 34-14
