Pilfo's Parlay Week 9
November 5th 2010 - Pilfo
Baltimore - 5.5 / Seattle + 6.5 / Green Bay - 8
An undefeated on the road Miami team comes into Baltimore this week looking
to keep their road record in tact. This will not happen. Miami has become bland
and predictable. The lack of production from Brandon Marshall shows just how
average Chad Henne is. The Dolphin running game is average at best. The Dolphin
defense is average at best. The Ravens coming off a bye week have had 2 weeks to
game plan for the Dolphins. The Raven passing game will help build a lead in
this game and their running game will solidify the victory. Baltimore is a true
Super Bowl contender while the fins fall short.
Prediction: Baltimore 27-10
This is the trap game of the week. Everyone thinks the Giants are making
their playoff run and are a lock to win their division. This game will show you
just how much parity there is in the NFC. The Seahawks have the best home field
advantage in the NFL bar none. Sunday will be cool and rainy and the Charlie
Whitehurst led Seahawk team will come out with a conservative game plan. Eli
will turn the ball over a couple of times, Jacobs will fumble once or twice and
Giants fans will scratch their heads and say "what have these guys been doing
for the last 2 weeks?" Then Leon Washington will have a great kickoff or punt
return and suddenly we will be in the 4th quarter with the game tied. Take the
points and thank me later.
Prediction: Seattle 20-17 in overtime
Dallas is arguably the worst team in the NFL. Although 8 is a big spread,
the only reason this spread isn't 12 or 13 is because it is the Dallas Cowboys
so the value is there. The Packers have had a bit more balance in their offense
the last few games and that has helped them. The Packs running game has been
respectable enough to give Rodgers a chance to make a big play when he needs it.
The defense keeps improving and was impressive on the road last week. The
Cowboys defense seemed disinterested last week and this week in the cold weather
(should be about 32 degrees Sunday night) will quit again once Green Bay builds
a lead. Kitna is not the answer. If he gets any decent stats it will be because
he got them in garbage time in the 4th quarter just like last week. Jerry may
fire Wade after this game.
Prediction: Green Bay 38-17
