NFL Best Bets for Week 14
December 10th 2011- Old Man Winner
Sea -4.5, SD-6.5, Det-7, NE -8
OK team - although I like a majority of underdogs this week, my favorite
picks this week are all favorites!
My favorite of the favorites is SEA -4.5. This spread should be 14, not 4.
How can anyone like the Lambs this week? They are starting a QB that was on
their practice squad and have more guys that have gone on IR (11) than any other
team including 3 starters on their offensive line, not to mention another half
dozen that are questionable this week. They are averaging 10 points over their
last five games and that was with their first and second string QB's. The Sea
Chickens have averaged 141 yds rushing yds over their last three games while the
Rams are giving up 179 in that same span. And, as always, Seattle is one of the
toughest stadiums to play in. This could be my favorite of all favorite picks
this year! Thanks Santa!!!!

It's December, so its time for San Diego to start playing up to their
potential. Finally, all of their skill players have returned to the line-up from
their plethora of injuries and Rivers actually looked 'normal' last week. Their
offensive line, although depleted, looked competent and Matthews is starting to
emerge as the back they thought he could be. Did you see that burst on his TD
run last week? Impressive! Buffalo, on the other hand, is an absolute mess. CJ
Spiller is no Fred Jackson and they really miss their pro bowl nose tackle, Kyle
Williams. I expect the Chargers to quickly establish the run and then use play
action to go deep a couple of times. This is also one of the longest hauls
across the country that exists in the NFL.
SD 34 Buf 17
Both Adrian Peterson and Christian Ponder are questionable. My sources tell
me that AP will go and Ponder will not. Their defensive secondary has also been
decimated by injuries. I know, I know - Ndamukong Suh is suspended for this
game. It won't matter. Stafford threw for 378 yds and 2 TD's against the Vikes
earlier this year in Minnesota and should go nuts in this one. Harvin's good,
but if the Lions scheme to take him away, they've got no one else to turn to.
Det 31 Min 13
The Redskins lost another two key players this week to drug suspensions;
starting left tackle Trent Williams and their best offensive weapon, TE Fred
Davis. Yes, the Pats are struggling defensively, but look for 'Bad Rex' to show
up and throw at least two key int's. Also, look for Brady to light up decent
defense.
