NFL Best Bets for Week 8
October 28th 2011- Old Man Winner
NYG -9.5 vs. Mia
I can't remember the last time the Giants have been at full strength with no
significant injuries. They are now and that is very bad news for Miami fans.
They are also coming off a bye and even their bumps and bruises have healed. Oh,
and did I mention that they are also playing at home? They are playing at home.
Or that their #1 draft pick, Prince Amukamara, is finally healthy and will only
help their secondary.
And, if that is not enough, they are playing a team that, if things work out
well, will be sending out their injured second string QB. But, if they are
unlucky, could literally be sending out a QB that they just picked up this week
off the scrap heap because their 3rd string QB is out for the season. No, not
Carson Palmer. We all saw how well that worked out after a week of practice with
the Raiders. Yes, we could see a JP Losman sighting this week - straight off his
MVP season in the now defunct UFL.
Eli has looked much better since his line is giving him time, Manningham is back
and they have discovered new talent in Victor Cruz and Jake Ballard. The Giants
have averaged over 330 yds passing in their last three games and their defense
is just getting started.
