NFL O/U Plays for Week 2
September 17th, 2011 - Special K
Let's see if I can top the 2010 season where I hit on 68% of my over/under
selections! In 2011, we are off to a solid start nailing the over in the Bears /
Falcons game. Scoring plays weren't quite what I expected but nevertheless we cashed
in.
Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers (Under 42.5 points)
Last week, the Seattle Seahawks outgained the 49ers offense 219 to 210 yards.
Ted Ginn almost had more yards in the return game than the 49ers offense. He had
176 return yards. That about says it all for the 49ers offense. The Dallas
Cowboys come into this game with a banged up secondary. However, Alex Smith is
simply not good enough to exploit their weakness. I like what Rob Ryan has done
with the Cowboys defense. Look for this to be an ugly, low scoring, grind it out type
of football game.
Baltimore Ravens at Tennessee Titans (Over 37.5 points)
What is this a high school football game? This point total is way too low for an
NFL game especially since the temperature will be in the upper 70's and sunny.
Matt Hasselbeck ought to be good for at least one pick six.
Kansas City Chiefs at Detroit Lions (Over 44.5 points)
In the last 4 meetings between the Chiefs and Lions, the over has covered
each time. The Lions have an explosive offense with Matthew Stafford at QB. The
Chiefs lost all-pro Eric Berry safety. Megatron will have a huge game because of
this. The Chiefs will score more than 7 points this week. Take the over in this
one.
Houston Texans at Miami Dolphins (Under 24 points first half)
The Dolphins need to go back to their old conservative ways on offense. The
Dolphins looked like a finesse team on offense last week against the Patriots.
Maybe acquiring Reggie Bush does this to your team. I looked for Arian Foster to
get off to a slow start since he hasn't played all year. All the scoring in this
game will come in the 2nd half, once the defenses are worn out from the 90+
degree heat.
