NFL Best Bets for Week 3
September 22nd 2012 - Old Man Winner
Atl +3 vs. SD
In the battle of the unbeatens, Atlanta is clearly the better team on both
sides of the ball. SD has been doing it with smoke n' mirrors. They got
manhandled in their first outing against Oakland and was able to come away with
a victory only because the Raiders lost their long snapper and botched three
punts. They also beat a weak Tennessee team.
The Falcons looked good in both of their games putting up a 45 spot on KC
and followed it up with an impressive performance against the Broncos. The
addition of Mike Nolan as defensive coordinator has paid huge dividends for the
Falcons. The Falcons now have some toughness to their defense and are ranked #1
in turnovers. Nolan is regarded as one of the NFL's top defensive minds. He did
a great job with a mediocre Dolphins team last season. They ranked 6th in points allowed and
3rd in rushing yards allowed. The acquisition of pro-bowl cornerback Asante
Samuel doesn't hurt either.
