NFL Best Bets for Week 4
September 28th 2012 - Old Man Winner
Hope you've got a big budget for this week, cuz we've got a few hot one's
for you!
Sea -2.5 @ Stl.
This one has danger written all over it. A west coast team traveling east to
play in an early Sunday game after a VERY emotional Monday night against a
divisional opponent. Blah blah blah. This one is simple - just take the WAY
BETTER team. Did you see the pass rush that Sea was getting vs. GB on Monday
night? 8 sacks in the first half? are you kidding me? I have a high def TV and
they were still a blur, especially with those Oregon Uni's with the neon green
shoes (you can bet Prime Time was jealous he couldn't suit up).
Simply put, Seattle has a very quick defense with a solid secondary against a
team that has one of the worst offensive lines the NFL has seen in years. (ok -
we'll give 'em a little break since they are not playing with a couple of their
starters). It's not that the 'Hawks are an offensive juggernaut, its just that I
don't see how the Rams make it to double digits.
I also like UNDER 38.5 in this one.

Cin -2 @ Jax
See above for caveats. If you are a good bettor you know that you cannot
make your living on taking road favorites. However, this one jumps off the page
for me - just like AJ Green can "jump out of the gym" for the Bengals. Cincy can
give up a ton of points, but they can score even more. Let's face it - who do
you want in this game, Andy Dalton and AJ Green or Blaine Gabbert and "who are
his receivers again?" Give the measly 2 pts and back up the truck.
I also like the OVER 42.5 in this one. Cincy's games are averaging 62 so far
this year. Jax could take it lower, but 42.5 should be an easy hurdle.
Cin 34 Jax 24
How about one more for kicks?
TB/Was UNDER 47.5
I get why the line was set this high - Washington plays about as much
defense as Carmello Anthony. However, offensively they are just not as good as
the numbers would indicate. Was has been putting up some big numbers, but keep
in mind they have played three of the worst defenses in the league. TB is not in
that company. Two of Tampa's three games have ended in a score of 16-10.
