NFL Underdog Pick for Week 5
October 5th 2012 - Special K
Cleveland Browns (+9.5) at New York Giants
How could you possibly take the Cleveland
Browns to cover against the Super Bowl champs? It's simple. The Giants are
probably one of the worst teams to pick when they are a heavy favorite. In the
last 8 games that the Giants were favored by 7+ points, they have only covered
once. Meanwhile, the Browns have covered their last 4 games where they were a 7+
point underdog. For whatever the reason may be, the Giants always seem to play
down to inferior competition and play much better when they are on the road and
in an underdog role.
The Giants are also quickly running out of players left to suit up on defense. The
next man up to play in the secondary might actually be Victor Cruz or maybe even
coach Coughlin. Luckily for the Giants, the Browns are extremely limited at the WR position
to put it nicely.
I've got a little advice for
Greg Little this week:

Weeden probably had his best game of the season
last week against the Ravens. He looked poised and stepped up nicely in the
pocket. Weeden and the Browns defense should be good enough to keep this game
close. If you are looking for an underdog to win outright, I like the
Seattle Seahawks this week to get back on track against the Carolina Panthers.
