NFL Underdog Pick for Week 13
November 29th 2013 - Special K
Arizona Cardinals (+3.5) at Philadelphia
Eagles
If you haven't noticed, the Arizona Cardinals are the one team I've had much
success picking this season at 8-3 ATS. This is because I realized early on
in the season that the Cardinals have been an undervalued team. Once again, they
come into Philadelphia as a 3.5 point dog when I think that the line should be
closer to a pick'em. I just love the job Bruce Arians has done turning this
franchise around. Arians was great in Pittsburgh and also did an incredible job
in Indy while Pagano was out. Look, 3 of the Cardinals losses this year are
against Seattle, SF, and New Orleans. This is a really good football team.
So, why do I like the Cardinals this week against the Eagles? The Cardinals
match up very well against the Eagles. The Cardinals bring the #2 ranked defense
against the run versus a Philly offense ranked #2 in rushing offense. Patrick
Peterson should be able to contain DeSean Jackson leaving Riley Cooper as the
Eagles best receiving option. Tyrann Mathieu has been one of the steals of the
draft. Yes, I am aware that Nick Foles has thrown 16 Td's vs 0 interceptions in
his starts, however the bye week will probably hurt the Eagles momentum
more than it will help. Also, when you keep tossing this 0 interception stat
around over and over, it's almost destiny that Foles will throw a few picks this
week. Plus, the Eagles haven't faced a defense this good since they played the
Chiefs in week 3 and the Chiefs won that game handily.
