NFL Underdog Pick for Week 7
October 17th 2013 - Special K
New York Jets (+4) vs New England
Patriots
Rex Ryan is now preaching abstinence. He told his team to rest up for the
Patriots - "Don't do nothing for your wife" (read
more). Rex might want to keep clear of the players wives this week or maybe
he should just abstain from talking to the media.
Don't let the Patriots 5-1 record fool you. The Patriots could easily be a 2-4
team this year. Obviously, Vegas is thinking like I am, otherwise the spread on
this game would be much higher. The Patriots pulled two games out of their you
know what with late wins against the Bills and Saints. Right now, they are
starting to run thin on players. Their defense already lost Wilfork and now Mayo
is done for the season. Their best db, Talib might also be out for this game.
Amendola took a wicked shot to the head last week. I can't imagine he will be
cleared to play. Who knows when Gronk will be back. Probably the week after the
Patriots lose another game which just might be this one.
Geno Smith has bounced back after poor performances. Smith should have a decent
game against a banged up NE defense. The Jets defense is ranked
#2 against the run and #4 in scoring. I see this game playing out similar to the
week 2 matchup.
Take the Jets and the points
