NFL Best Bets for Week 11
November 15th 2014 - Old Man Winner
Den -9.5 @ Stl
This year has been a little bit different than the recent trends of the past.
Usually this kind of game and spread has been a total trap. The better team has
been on a roll, the lesser team has struggled. The underdog receives a ton of
points playing at home. The public gladly gives the points and Vegas once again
let's everyone know why they are Vegas.
That said, many of this year's better teams on the road giving points have fared
pretty well, with a few memorable exceptions (ala Pit vs. Jets last week).
Sometimes a game looks too easy and that is usually the time to step away and
let 80% of the public take a bath. However, in this one, I'm just not sure how
the Rams can put up enough points to make it a game. It would take 3-4 Bronco
turnovers for this game to be close, and I just don't see it.
The game is on turf which should only help the speedster Denver WR's. Although
the Broncos are down to their 3rd string RB this week, I believe he has even
more talent than the other two and will emerge this week. The Rams are also
switching QB's and trotting Sean Hill out there. He is a serviceable QB and
usually does a good job of protecting the ball, but that won't be enough to keep
up with the juggernaut that is the Denver Broncos.
This game will bring back memories of the "The Greatest Show on Turf," however
this time there will be a new Sheriff in town!
