NFL Best Bets for Week 14
December 6th 2014 - Old Man Winner
NYG even vs. Ten
. . . and if the Queen had balls she'd be the King! We've all heard that one
before, but that's the first thought that comes to mind when thinking about what
happened in last week's Giants game (our best bet last week). The Giants won the
time of possession battle by a full 10 minutes and dominated for most of the
game. However, the Jags scored twice on recovered fumbles and kicked the game
winning field goal with :32 seconds on the clock.
Without those two flukie plays, the Giants win by 12 and easily cover the paltry
2.5 points they were giving to the Jags. The Giants propensity to play down to
their competition has finally encouraged the wise guys to bring the line down so
far as to be ridiculous. This line should be closer to NYG -4.5.
This week the G-Men roll their 3-9 record into Tennessee, where they meet the
2-10 Titans. And, although their records look similar, the Giants are the far
superior team. Jennings showed what he could do on the ground last week rushing
for 91 yards and 2 scores. Albeit injured in the 4th quarter of that game, he
looks to be returning to face the #32 ranked rush defense . . . and licking his
chops.
Tennessee is completely banged up with their QB questionable to play, and both
starting WR's likely out.
I expect a very conservative game plan from the Giants. This is when they are at
their best and Eli is not pretending to be as good as his brother . . . Cooper.
