The first piece of good news for Chicago is that the NFL draft is moving there
in 2015. The second piece of good news is that the Bears will be playing a
depleted Panthers team. No Greg Hardy, no designed run plays for Cam Newton due
to his injury and I honestly can't name one of the Panthers running backs this
week. The Panthers are simply a below average team that can stay in games
against sub par offenses because of their solid defense. However, the Bears
offense can put up points. The Bears are also road warriors this year, 2-0
straight up and 2-0 ATS.
Statistically, the biggest mismatch in this game between both teams is in red
zone efficiency. The Panthers rank dead last on defense in red zone efficiency
giving up touchdowns 80% of the time. On offense, the Panthers also rank dead
last on scoring touchdowns in the red zone. Meanwhile, the Bears rank 2nd on
offense in red zone scoring and 5th on defense in preventing touchdowns. How
many times this season have you seen Brandon Marshall use his height and box out
a defensive back to score a td? It should happen again this week. I like the
Bears in this football game.
