San Diego Chargers (+9.5) at Denver

I backed the Chargers in week 15 when they went into Denver and beat the Broncos
on Thursday night. Once again, I like the Chargers getting 9.5 points in this
matchup. Here are a couple reasons why. For one, Philip Rivers is at the top of
his game and has been successful against the Broncos in his career with a 6-2
record in Denver and a 2-0 record over Manning in the postseason. Ken Whisenhunt
has done a great job creating a balanced offensive attack in San Diego this year
which is why he is being recruited for several head coaching jobs. The
Chargers ranked first in 3rd down conversions and first in time of possession, a
perfect formula for keeping Manning on the sidelines.
Secondly, the Chargers are better built for the weather conditions that this
game is going to be played in. Throw a dome over the stadium and I would be all
over the Broncos this week. However, the forecast shows 30 degree temperatures
and 15-20 mph winds. We all witnessed how Manning played in those conditions
when the Broncos played in New England earlier this year. The weather conditions
will play a major factor in this game. The Chargers are the more physical team
on both sides of the ball and their running game is peaking at the right time.
