NFL Best Bets for Week 12
November 25th 2016 - Old Man Winner
OAK -3 vs. Car
OK, fans, this is a quiz. What was the name I told you to remember last week?
I'll give you a hint - I called him a road plow. That's right, the name of the
left guard for the Oakland Raiders, Kelechi Osemele. Good job remembering . . .
ya right!
Although a little banged up last week, we expect he will be out there plowing a
path for Raider running backs on their way to the black hole. When introduced to
Oakland this summer, his quote included this gem, "you know why my initials are
KO, right?" Hahaha - I expect him to do some more damage this week against a
significantly depleted Panthers team.
Most importantly, Carolina will be without their defensive quarterback, Luke
Kuechly. This would be akin to losing Cam Newton to their offense. This guy is
everything to this defense. A two-time NFL-leading tackler, play caller, and one
of the most naturally instinctive players in the league.
Combine the quality of the Raiders offensive line and the hole created by the
loss of Kuechly and I see a huge mismatch in Oakland's favor when they have the
ball.
On the other side of the ball, the Panthers have been stripped of two key
lineman who will not play in this game. Their center Ryan Kalil and the guy who
protects Cam's blind side, left tackle, Michael Oher (did you see what I did
there . . . blind side . . . Michael Oher - the movie The Blind Side was about
him? - you remember Sandra Bullock was hot? ya - I figured that would jog your
mamory - hehe) is also out for the year.
I look for the respective offensive lines to make the difference in this game.
Oh, and Cam to whine about more late hits afterwards.
Oak 30 Car 17
(yes, that was the same score I predicted last week. OK, so I'm superstitious -
I won last week - sue me)
