NFL Best Bets for Week 5
October 7th 2016 - Old Man Winner
Pit-7 vs. NYJ
Pittsburgh is just hitting their stride: LeVeon Bell is back, Sammy Coates is
developing into a nice replacement for Martavis Bryant (Pittsburgh's new
burner), Jesse James is making a name for himself as a legit tight end (did you
see what i did there - "making a name", oh nevermind), and Antonio Brown and Ben
Roethlesberger are still the A and B of the offense!
And other than the Philly game, the defense has given up an average of only 15
points. But, that's only half the story.
The other half is how poorly the Jets have been playing. Their offense has
been fighting through a plethora of injuries and their quarterback keeps
wanting to throw the ball to the guys in the wrong colored jerseys. Brandon
Marshall is not 100%, Eric Decker is out, their emerging new receiver, Quincy
Enunwa, is questionable, and Matt Forte is beginning to show his age. Their
offense is a wreck. Their defense isn't much better. What once was a defense
to be feared, now just has a reputation for stopping the run. Their secondary
is a sieve, even with Darrel Revis playing. Now he's not.
When I watch the Jets I just don't see the emotion necessary to win football
games.
I like the Steelers to run up the score in this one with both wideouts (Brown
and Coates) having big days and Bell getting chunk yards in the passing game.
