NFL Underdog Pick Week 15
December 16th 2016 -
Special K
Tennessee Titans (+5.5) at Kansas
City Chiefs
Let's quickly analyze how the Kansas City Chiefs are winning football games
despite having some of the worst statistics in the NFL. The Chiefs have been out
gained by an average of 50 yards per game. One of the main reasons the Chiefs
are 10-3 is that the defense has forced a league-high 25 turnovers. The defense
also has 5 defensive touchdowns and the Special Teams have two return
touchdowns, not to mention a 2 pt conversion and a fake punt for a TD. That is
how you win games when you ranked in the bottom half in points scored, rushing
yards, passing yards, 3rd down conversions, red zone efficiency, and time of
possession.
Just so you know, the Titans rank higher than the Chiefs in all those categories
I just mentioned.
If this football game is going to come down to turnovers, let it be known that
Marcus Mariota hasn't thrown an interception in his 4 last games. Murray ranks
second in the NFL in rushing and
with the loss of linebacker Derrick Johnson, I expect the Titans to feed him the
football a lot on Sunday. This will take a lot of pressure off of Mariota. I
also like the fact that Mariota just played against arguably the best defense in
the NFL last week and the same game plan can be applied here.
Mariota really struggled against the Broncos only completing 6 out of 20 passes.
He will make the necessary adjustments against another worthy defense this week
in the Chiefs. 5.5 points is too much for a game that will most likely be
determined by a field goal.
Take the Titans and the points
