NFL Underdog Pick Week 6
October 14th 2016 -
Special K
Jacksonville Jaguars (+2.5) at
Chicago Bears
Brian Hoyer had a career game and threw for 397 yards last week while filling in
for Jay Cutler.
However, even with those great stats, the Bears still lost to the Colts. The one
major problem I see with Hoyer is that he fails to get his best playmaker Alshon
Jeffery involved in the offense. We saw this time and time again in Houston with
Hoyer and Hopkins. As a QB, you have to find ways to utilize and get your best
weapon on offense the football.
The Jaguars come into Sunday's game at Chicago remarkable healthy. Only 3
players are questionable. What impresses me the most about the 2016 Jaguars is
their defense. Sure they are giving up 27+ points per game but look at total
yardage, they rank 7th. The yardage stats are very good considering they have
played against Luck, Rivers and Rodgers. The Jags defensive line is much
improved (12 sacks in 4 games) and their secondary is very solid.
As I see it, the Jags are better than the Bears on both sides of the football.
The Bears are not a blitzing defense so Bortles should have enough time to pick
apart the Bears defense. If Chicago's front four can't create enough pressure on
Bortles, it will be a long day for the Bears. Robinson is going to be a
matchup nightmare for the Bears defense as it is.
When I did my lines, I had this game as a pick'em so I see value in getting
points with the Jaguars.
Also, the Jaguars are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games coming off of a bye.
Take the Jags and the points
