NFL Underdog Pick Week 7
October 21st 2016 -
Special K
Oakland Raiders (+1) at
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Oakland Raiders begin their two week hiatus to the Sunshine State with a
week 7 football game against Jack Del Rio's former team, the Jacksonville
Jaguars. Yes, the Raiders are barely an underdog in this matchup. Regardless,
they are a 1 point underdog and are still not feeling any love from Vegas. Maybe
once they move there, things will be different. Anyways, I had the Raiders as a
three point favorite in this game so I am jumping at this opportunity to prove
the oddsmakers wrong once again this year.
Usually, a good defense travels well, yet somehow the Raiders are 3-0 on the
road this season with the league's worst defense. One reason for the Raiders
success on the road is that Derek Carr and the Raiders have been very good at
protecting the football. The Raiders are a +5 in the turnover ratio while the
Jaguars are a -4. The Jaguars are ranked 29th when it comes to defensive
turnovers so I don't expect that to be a factor this week. The Raiders offense
should also get a boost this week when Latavius Murray returns to the backfield.
Maybe you are worried about the West coast team traveling East for any early
morning game theory?
The Raiders are planning to stay in Florida for the next ten days. When Jim
Harbaugh coached the 49ers, he used to stay on the East coast when they had to
play back to back games and this plan worked out very well for his team. The
players bonded and grew closer together. I expect that the Raiders will
experience the same results here.
Jacksonville hardly has a home field advantage. The Jaguars had more fan support
when they were playing over in London. I like the Raiders chances of going 4-0
on the road with their offense outscoring the Jaguars. Jack Del Rio will stick it to
his former team.
Take the Raiders and the point
