NFL Best Bets for Week 13
December 2nd 2017 - Old Man Winner
NE -8.5 @ Buf
This is the time of year where New England is honing greatest. They have
done what they need to do to understand their strengths and weaknesses and are
hitting full stride. Here is there offensive output over the last three games:
41, 33, 35. As long as Tom Brady is taking snaps this time of the year this team
will continue to score in the mid-30's. With respect to their defense, this was
the worst unit in the league over the first four weeks. However, over the last
seven games no team has scored more than 17 points on them. Let's do the math
together, the Pats score in the mid 30's and the (Enter Team Name Here) score no
more than 17, which equals a margin of victory of 15-20 points. So, how are they
only an 8.5 point favorite?
Maybe its because Buffalo plays them tough? Overall, that appears to be true.
But, if you look closer, that only happens when they play in Foxboro. The Pats
have covered four of the last five, and 11 of the last 13 when playing in
Buffalo. The weather will be nice, so there should be no extenuating
circumstances there.
Why haven't I even mentioned Buffalo's squad? Because it doesn't matter. At this
time of year, New England is really playing against their own standard. It
doesn't really matter who is on the other side of the ball.
I expect this game to look very much like every other New England game this time
of year. It will be the same boring thing . . . superior execution and grining
dominance.
