NFL Best Bets for Week 5
October 7th 2017 - Old Man Winner
Green Bay Packers +2 at Dallas Cowboys
Last week our best bet squeeked out a victory when the Giants needed all 3
points to cover their spread. But hey, I'll take a win any way I can - just ask
Chiefs fans and their cover on the last play of Monday night's game. Crazy!
This game is one of two things - either the easiest game ever - take arguably
the best team in the league getting points or its a total sucker bet and the
reason Las Vegas has so many beautiful and expensive casinos. I'm going to go
with the former.
Green Bay seems to have improved offensively with each game they played scoring
17, 23, 27, and 35 points respectively and Aaron Rodgers has thrown 1, 2, 3, and
4 TD's respectively in those games. Now I'm not much for pattern recognition,
but I think I can guess how many TD's he's trending to throw this week.
Green Bay's offense will be getting back at least one starting tackle from
injury and maybe both. This will make a huge difference to an already powerful
offense. Dallas secondary is banged up and Rodgers should feast on a
non-cohesive pass defense. I also love the fast track in Dallas.
This is not the same Dallas team as last year. The offensive line which last
year was considered the best in the league has clearly taken a step back. I do
expect Dallas to commit more to the run this week and get Zeke going in order to
keep Green Bay's possessions down. However, I just don't think they'll be able
to keep up with the Packers firepower.
