NFL Best Bets for Week 6
October 14th 2017 - Old Man Winner
Denver Broncos -11.5 vs New York Giants
With some games the most important thing to remember is "just don't
overthink it."
Is it obvious? Yes. Will everyone want this side of the bet? Yes. Should that
matter? No!
C'mon . . . .how are the Giants going to score? Are they going to try and run
the ball with a poor offensive line and no running back that would start on any
other team against a club that only gives up an avg. of 50 yds per game to their
opponents? Of course not. Are they going to try and role out a pass game that
last week lost 4 players that to-date had received 86% of the team targets
against a Broncos defense that is nicknamed the 'no fly zone'? They may try.
No, I seriously have my doubts as to whether or not the Giants score ANY points
in this game. Maybe they get lucky and score a defensive score or special teams
score. Frankly, that may be their best chance.
They are also traveling across the country, playing on a Sunday night, have been
distracted all week by off the field issues (all the injuries and suspending one
of their better defensive players indefinitely). Talk about stacking the deck.
Some of you may want to be a hero contrarian, not me. I think Denver could
easily be a 20+ pt favorite and still cover. This is more like a college
powerhouse playing one of their early season tune-up games.
