NFL Best Bets for Week 10
November 10th 2018 - Old Man Winner
IND -3 vs JAC
God, I loved Jacksonville's defense last year. They had a great pass rush, a
punishing defensive front seven, they were quick to the ball in the secondary
and just had a nose for the ball. But, like most things in the NFL, last year
might as well have been a decade ago. Things change fast; guys get injured, guys
lose a step, certain replacements just don't gel the same and then, all of a
sudden (and it can be sudden) the synchronicity is gone. Don't get me wrong,
from a purely statistical standpoint, they still rank at the top of the league.
But, the magic is gone, and as the weeks peel off, the luster is fading.
It's the exact opposite with the Indianapolis Colts. They are quickly rising up
the ranks with Andrew Luck having not only knocked off the rust from having sit
more than a full season, he has buffed and polished the finish like a vintage
'57 T-Bird at the local auto show. He is back, baby!
I see Luck taking this defense to task on Sunday, especially without key corners
AJ Bouye and Meeks. He has Hilton and Doyle back at full strength and nice
pass-catching weapons out of the backfield. On defense, the Colts are improving.
