Cleveland Browns (+3) at Cincinnati Bengals
The Browns have not won a regular season road game since week 5 of the 2015
season when they knocked off the Ravens 33-30 in overtime. Yes, that is 25
straight road losses!! Back then, Josh McCown was the QB and Isiah Crowell was
the RB. Now, both those players will have their hands full as they battle the
Patriots.
So why in the world would I take the Browns on the road against a team that
still has motivations to make the playoffs?
Listen, if any team is going to lose to the Browns at home, its going to be Marv
Lewis and the Bengals. The Browns are coming off a bye week as healthy as
they've been all season.
Meanwhile, it doesn't look like AJ Green is going to available again for the
Bengals and he is the major cog in that offense.
The Bengals were just gashed for over 100 yards by a rookie QB and over 100
yards by an undrafted free agent named Gus the Bus Edwards. Mayfield completed
85% of his passes last game against a Falcons defense which honestly is playing
better than the Bengals defense right now.
After taking over as OC, Kitchens has done a great job of balancing the Browns
offense. Chubb and Duke should both have big games out of the backfield. I like
how the Browns have utilized Duke Johnson, aka James White of the Patriots.
Listen, the time has come for this young Browns team to get one on the road.
Condoleezza Rice will be watching.
