New York Jets (+9.5) vs New England Patriots
I realize it is never a wise move to bet against the hoodie especially coming
off some extra rest, but the extra rest didn't seem to benefit the Patriots
offense. Josh Gordon is out, their tight ends are banged up and we already know
their offensive line is hurting. The Patriots offense has not been that
dominant, it has been the defense carrying the Patriots thus far in 2019.
Meanwhile, the Jets are getting healthy. Darnold got a game under his belt
against the Cowboys and the Jets will get a boost to their defense with Mosley
coming back.
Listen, this isn't going to be a blowout like everyone thinks. I see this game
playing out similar to the Bills/Patriots matchup earlier this season when the
Patriots won by 6. It will be a defensive battle. The Patriots replacement
kicker struggles to make a field goal more than 40 yards so that could be a
factor as well. The Patriots are also 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings in New
York.
