NFL Underdog Pick: Week 5

I can't take too much credit for last week's Atlanta pick because most of the
homedogs won and the Chiefs deserve all of the credit for their huge upset.
After last week, I am seeing new survivor pools popping up everywhere. Since
week 1, the underdogs have covered 70% of the games, so how hard can it be to
pick an underdog right? I have a sneaky feeling this is the week the
favorites come through.
I was very close to not even bothering to write an underdog article this week as
it was difficult trying to find a team that could do it. I can't take the
Lions, they are 0-20 in Washington even though Ditka thinks it is over-hyped (Read
here). Just forget about the Browns and Bills.
Everyone wants to see the undefeated Cowboys vs. Patriots next week. Carolina is
an interesting play as the road team is 11-0 against the spread when both teams
meet, but how can you possibly put good money on David Carr? Instead
of playing sports, he should be in a rock band with Barry Zito. Let's see,
I like San Diego but they are hardly an underdog. The Bucs? Freeney might
get the sack record this week with Petitgout out. The Rams, Bears, and 49ers are
all off limits because they don't even have a real quarterback. I'm not
going anywhere near the Jags/Chiefs or Giants/Jets games either.
That really just leaves me with the Dolphins. It may seem that I am picking on
Houston again. Well, I am. Once again the
Texans don't have a WR to start this week, and the running back
situation is still in rough shape. Did you see how slow Ron Dayne was last week?
Not only that, he couldn't stuff it in on the goal line. If the Dolphins get
Zack Thomas back in the lineup, I like them to win outright. Cam Cameron's is
due his first victory.
