With the Saints loss to the Cowboys, the Colts are the only
undefeated team left in the NFL. This week the Colts take on the Jets who barely
have a pulse left for a wild card playoff spot. We will break down the AFC wild
card race for you since there are 8 teams all within reach of a wild card
playoff berth. If the season ended today, both the Ravens (8-6) and Broncos
(8-6) would represent the AFC as wild card teams. If the Ravens beat the
Steelers, they will clinch a wildcard berth and the Steelers will be eliminated.
The Dolphins and Texans essentially play each other in an elimination game this
weekend with the loser knocked out of the race. Right now, the Jaguars
have the best conference record of any of the six 7-7 teams which will benefit
them in case of a tiebreaker.
The NFC wild card race is between the Cowboys and Giants. The Cowboys are 9-5
and the Giants are 8-6 but the Giants having beat the Cowboys twice hold the
tiebreaker in case both teams end up with the same record.
