Super Bowl Sunday is the the country's biggest unofficial national
holiday! Super Bowl Sunday means parties and the reality of it all is
that most of you will either end up at a Super Bowl party or be
hosting one. For those of you hosting a party, PylonPicks is
here to help. We are going to provide you with a guide on how to
throw the biggest, coolest and most memorable Super Bowl bash.
1. Invitations
The Super Bowl is meant to be watched with lots of
people, so fill your house with friends. Even invite friends who may be
rooting for the opposing team as there is nothing better than smack talk during
and after the big game. We recommend using sites like Blue Mountain to send Super
Bowl party electronic invites.
2. Food
Snacks are essential at any football viewing event. Since
many of your guests will be at your place over the course of the entire day, make sure to provide them with
plenty of food to snack on.
Here are some popular food choices:
Pizza, Wings,
Giant sub sandwiches, Chips, Salsa, Guacamole, Cheese Dip, 7 Layer Dip, Peanuts,
Pretzels, Snack Mix, Fruit salad, Veggie Platters, cheese and cold cut plates.
If you plan to BBQ, pick up some burgers, hot dogs, rolls, cheese, condiments,
pickles, tomatoes and lettuce. Don't forget the vegetarians either, make sure to
get some veggie burgers.
If you don't want to deal with cooking food yourself, sites such as
Delivery.com
make it real simple to order great food online
from local restaurants.

3. Drinks
People definitely get thirsty while watching
football and eating tons of food so stock your refrigerators and coolers
with plenty of beverages. If you're inviting a lot of people, it
may even be more cost effective to order a small keg.
If you really want to try and impress your friends for this big party,
try brewing your own beer. We've found a couple web
sites you might be interested in checking out.
MrBeer.com
sells
home microbrewery kits. You'll be enjoying your first glass of great
tasting home brewed beer in only 2 weeks. At KegWorks.com, you can
also find everything you need to make your own beer. You can even
order your own Guinness Keg Fridge System.
Don't forget about providing soda and water for those who aren't drinking
alcohol.
The TV is going to be the focal
point of this party. It's important
that you have a good sized big screen or flat screen TV if
you're hosting a big Super Bowl party. The Sony Bravia XBR 52" HDTV
is by far one of the nicest TV's out there. However, even with a big screen TV, it can be hard
for everyone to see the game. Consider setting up additional TV's
in the kitchen or even an office.
If the game becomes a blowout, get out the
Playstation3 and replay the
Super Bowl on Madden football.
5. Games
Super Bowl Squares - is a type of pool in
which participants fill out their names on a 10x10 grid and win based on
the score at the end of each quarter. PylonPicks has created a
spreadsheet you can use to easily manage you own pool. You can
download here.
NOTE: The spreadsheet contains a macro that enables you to
generate random numbers for the top and side of the grid once all
participants names are entered. You would need to enable macros if
you want to use this feature.
Super Bowl Prop Bets - there are over 800 different proposition bets on
the Super Bowl each year such as who will score the first touchdown,
total receptions, total sacks, will a certain QB throw an intercepted
pass, or will a certain running back have more than 40 rushing yards in
the 1st half. PylonPicks has provided you with a page of fun downloadable prop bets.
Feel free to print or
download
the props to a spreadsheet and see who can get the most prop bets
correct.

Always make sure to have a Nerf Football handy to work off some calories
during the halftime show.
6. Decorations
If you want to go all out for your party, it's a great idea to put up
some football decorations. The football party package to the right
contains a 6 foot long pennant string of your favorite team and comes
with 8 NFL dinner plates and cups. Most supermarkets and department
stores like Target will also carry generic football decorations.
7. Music
Every Super Bowl party needs some rockin' music. The CD to the
right will make you feel like you are right at the stadium. It
has such songs as "We Will Rock You" and "Who Let The Dogs Out?".
Bruce Springsteen will be the featured artist at this year's Super Bowl.
You can
listen and download every Bruce Springsteen song
here.
